The Frog and The Turtle

One day, a big turtle walked through plain. Then is saw frog was delighting along the rim of the well. The big turtle dropped in the well and why you are delighting. The frog said to the turtle, "How pleasant! I play on the rim of the well, and I take a rest on the broken spout. I'm used to swimming with joy on the bottom. However it seems that the polliwogs and the crabs are not pleasant like me." The turtle mocked, "Do you know how large the great ocean is? On the bottom, there are 1000 beautiful coral reefs. 5000 shoals of gold and silver fish swim in the cobalt water. In the midnight, numberless stars are shining above the great ocean surface. Your well is nothing! How pity! If you know the real pleasant, follow me. I'll show you the beautiful great ocean." The frog got angry, "If I leave my well, I will be a just little nobody. If I go to the great ocean, the gold and silver fishes  will laugh at me. So I don't want to follow you!"

Moral: If you get along with elite group, I would be unhappy and suffer from inferiority complex.

My Favorite House

This is Summer Palace in St. Pertersberg. On the higher ground, there is a symmetry yellow palace. the palace has pastel blue roof and many white-edged windows and white columns. In front of the palace, there are a couple of cascades. Each stair of them has a couple of golden statues and a pair of small fountains. Statues and fountains are located on both side of stairs. Between two cascades, there is a terrace and wide cascade. On the center of  the terrace, there is a statue and balustrade. On front side of the terrace, there are four arches which are made of bricks. In front of arches, there is the wide cascade which has a bunch of fountains. In front of the wide cascade, there is a stream and small island which has Samson and lion golden statue and frog shaped fountains. This is palace of Russia, so I think that czar or czarina lived here. This is beautiful and elegant structure, but it makes me uncomfortable and complex. Simple is essential for comfortable shelter. Therefore I don't want to live here.  But I still think that this place is gorgeous. If I go here, I will sing a song in Russian. It makes me entrancing!

The greatest invention of 20th century - Computer

What if  computers doesn’t exist? We might calculate for tax by hand or abacus, so there are many errors in calculating, and it takes long time to do that. It is hard to make fancy scenes in movies. Like these, computers are important in our life, so I write why computers are the greatest invention. First, computers can calculate, save, load, delete, copy amount of data easily and quickly. It can copy hundreds of books in few seconds and can process a lot of paperwork in one hour without hand. Especially, it is impossible to simulate typhoon in time without computer. Second,  computers help graphic realizations. In SF movies, we can see brilliant scenes by means of computers, even computers help MRI in the medical industry. Last, computers make us use internet. There are no mechanical devices to exchange amount of information in real time. How can do telegraph? How can do telephone? Somebody may say “Smartphone can be use internet.”, but it’s kind of  computers. So  computers are only device to use  internet.

My hero - Steve Jobs

My hero is the man who has the virtues that I want to. That man is the CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs. Here are Job’s virtues that I want to.

He tried to find work he loves constantly. His major was physics, but he quit college, because it didn’t suit him. After his dropout, he was infatuated with literature and philosophy in one year. But soon he changed his mind. He got a job in game company as game designer, and he was fascinated about computer. From there Jobs learned about computer, and he set up Apple in the end.

He doesn’t dwell on the past rather find new way.  In 1985, Jobs was fired from Apple which he started, but he didn’t discouraged, then he founded animation studio, Pixar. Years later Pixar’s Toy Story made $ 1869,360,161. After the success of Toy Story, he returned to Apple. When he reinstated, Apple had been in the red for about $ one billion. For only one year, he made Apple being in the black about 4 hundred million. If he had stuck to CEO of Apple or had done business like he used to, he might not have succeed again.

I hesitate to find what I love and dwell on the past, but I want to try to find work I really love like Jobs and not to dwell on the past like Jobs. Though there will be difficult to do that, I will remedy my shortcoming.
